Celebrating Jenny’s Qualification and Owen’s appointment

We are delighted to share exciting news from our Maulin Law team — Jenny Hughes has officially qualified as a Solicitor this month, marking a significant milestone in her legal career and an important moment for our growing practice. Jenny’s journey is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence in clinical negligence and medical malpractice law.

Jenny began her career at TMLEP as an Analyst, where she developed strong medico-legal insights straight out of the University of Kent. She went on to work as a Litigation Assistant at Kennedys, gaining valuable experience working on NHS Resolution matters and high-profile clinical negligence claims, before joining East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust as a Legal Services Officer. Jenny later served as Claims and Legal Services Manager at THEMIS Clinical Defence, managing a diverse portfolio of medical malpractice claims and ensuring policyholders received exceptional support and guidance.

Since joining Maulin Law, Jenny has continued to demonstrate her skill and leadership. Now admitted as a Solicitor through the SQE pathway (as of 01 October 2025), she manages a range of clinical negligence claims — from lower-value cases to those exceeding £100,000 — across various medical specialities, including orthopaedics, neurosurgery, gynaecology, and plastic surgery. Jenny also continues to provide valuable secondment support to Themis, contributing to their in-house legal operations.

Jenny’s qualification comes at an exciting time for Maulin Law as we also welcome Owen Stacey to the team, marking another step in our firm’s continued growth and commitment to excellence in medical law.

We are thrilled to welcome Owen to Maulin Law. An LLB (Hons) graduate from the University of Nottingham, Owen joins us with extensive practical experience already gained in case management, client advisory, and trial preparation roles.

Before joining Maulin Law, Owen worked as a Clinical Negligence Litigation Analyst with TMLEP, where he developed skills in conducting complex legal research, producing accurate and insightful case reporting, and supporting solicitors in achieving successful outcomes for clients.

Owen is a highly intuitive and commercially astute professional — known for his strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, and for delivering complex assignments to full specification, no matter how demanding the circumstances. His enthusiasm, reliability, and team-focused mindset make him a fantastic addition to our growing practice.

Neil Rowe, Head of Practice commented: “Jenny’s qualification and Owen’s arrival represent exciting progress for MAULIN LAW as we continue to strengthen our specialist expertise and capacity within the med mal marketplace. We’re incredibly proud of our team’s achievements and look forward to the continued success, growth, and collaboration that lie ahead.”

Please join us in congratulating Jenny on this outstanding achievement and Owen’s appointment by celebrating the continued expansion of our talented team.
